Daya blog cover. How to get paid on Fiverr in Nigeria.

To get paid on Fiverr in Nigeria, you withdraw your cleared earnings to Payoneer, PayPal, or a bank transfer that Fiverr routes through Payoneer. Fiverr keeps 20% of every order and holds the rest for 14 days. After that, sending it to a Payoneer account costs $3, and sending it to PayPal costs nothing.

Where the money goes after Fiverr matters as much as Fiverr's own fee. If you move your dollars from Payoneer to US account details in your own name, Daya Borders takes 0% of what arrives, against 0.8% at Grey (minimum $2, maximum $10) and 0.8% at Cleva (minimum $2, maximum $5) on a standard US bank transfer. Every fee on this page came from each company's own pages on 19 September 2026. For the bigger picture across every platform, see how to get paid by international clients in Nigeria.

How do you withdraw money from Fiverr in Nigeria?

You withdraw Fiverr earnings from the Earnings page once they've cleared, choosing Payoneer, PayPal or Fiverr's bank transfer option. Fiverr's help centre sets a maximum of $5,000 per withdrawal, and every method has its own minimum. The first time you do it, set the method up a day early, because Fiverr makes you wait.

These are the steps:

  1. Wait for the money to clear. Fiverr holds earnings for 14 days after an order is completed, or 7 days if you're a Seller Plus, Top Rated or Pro freelancer.
  2. Add a withdrawal method on your Earnings page. The Payoneer or PayPal account has to be in your own name.
  3. Wait 24 hours. Fiverr blocks withdrawals for 24 hours after you add or change a method, and for 48 hours after you update your verified phone number.
  4. Withdraw, up to $5,000 per transaction. Fiverr says withdrawals are final and can't be undone, so check the method before you press the button.

Which Fiverr withdrawal methods work in Nigeria?

Fiverr offers three withdrawal methods that a new seller in Nigeria can set up: a Payoneer account, PayPal, and a bank transfer that Fiverr sends through Payoneer. The fourth, the Fiverr Revenue Card, was discontinued in December 2022 and only works for people who already had one.

Fiverr's withdrawal methods page lists these costs:

  • Payoneer account: $3 per withdrawal, a $10 minimum, and up to 2 business days.
  • PayPal: $0 per withdrawal, a $1 minimum, and 24 hours.
  • Bank transfer (via Payoneer), paid in local currency: $3 per withdrawal, a $20 minimum, and 1 to 3 business days.
  • Bank transfer (via Payoneer), paid as a US dollar wire: $1 per withdrawal, a $20 minimum, and 5 to 7 business days.

The two bank transfer fees come from Fiverr's Payoneer setup page. Fiverr's main withdrawal page lists a single $1 fee for bank transfers, so expect $3 if your money is converted to naira on the way.

How much does Fiverr take from your earnings?

Fiverr takes 20% of each order. Fiverr's guide for freelancers says freelancers receive 80% of the client's cleared payment. Withdrawal fees and any currency conversion come off what's left, so the money that reaches your naira account is always less than 80% of the order price.

On a $100 order, the money moves like this:

  1. The client pays $100.
  2. Fiverr keeps $20, and $80 clears after 14 days.
  3. Withdrawing to a Payoneer account costs $3, so $77 lands in Payoneer.
  4. Converting that to naira costs whatever your provider charges on the exchange rate, which is the part most people never see written down.

There's also an optional Early Payout for Top Rated sellers and Seller Plus Premium members. Fiverr's Early Payout page says it costs 1% of the amount you're pulling forward. On $80, that's 80 cents to skip the wait.

How long does it take to get paid on Fiverr?

Expect about 15 to 17 days from a completed order to money in your naira account the first time. Fiverr's 14-day clearing period is the long part. Transfer times are short by comparison: 24 hours to PayPal, up to 2 business days to a Payoneer account, and up to 7 business days for a US dollar wire.

A few things stretch that timeline:

  • The order isn't marked complete. If the client doesn't respond after you deliver, Fiverr's order process page says the order completes automatically after 3 days, and the 14 days start from there.
  • It's your first withdrawal, or you've just added a method. Both trigger a 24-hour wait.
  • The amount is more than $5,000. You'll need more than one withdrawal.
  • Payoneer is holding it. Moving money from Payoneer to your bank or to another account is a separate step with its own timing.

Can you withdraw from Fiverr straight to a Nigerian bank account?

Not directly. Fiverr's bank transfer option runs through Payoneer, so Payoneer handles the payment either way. Fiverr pays it in local currency for $3, taking 1 to 3 business days, or as a US dollar wire for $1, taking 5 to 7 business days. Fiverr also says each method has its own location rules, so check with Payoneer that your bank is covered.

What it means for you: the naira you receive depends on Payoneer's exchange rate, not Fiverr's. Payoneer's pricing page lists up to 3% for withdrawals that convert one currency into another. On a $77 withdrawal, that's up to $2.31 lost to the conversion.

Payoneer also charges a $29.95 annual fee if you go 12 months without a transaction. That won't touch an active seller, but it will catch someone who stops selling for a year and leaves a balance behind.

Can you send Fiverr earnings to a dollar account like Daya Borders or Grey?

Yes, through Payoneer. Fiverr doesn't list US bank accounts as a withdrawal method, so the route is Fiverr to Payoneer, then Payoneer to the US account details a dollar account app gives you in your own name. Payoneer charges $1.50 to withdraw US dollars as US dollars, which avoids its conversion fee entirely.

The receiving app then decides what you keep. Daya Borders takes 0% of dollars that arrive, with no cap and no conditions. Grey and Cleva each take 0.8% of a standard US bank transfer, and Raenest charges a flat $2 under $500 and $4 from $500.

Fees from each company's own pages, checked 19 September 2026. Every route starts with Fiverr's $3 fee to your Payoneer account.

The receiving fees come from Grey's USD deposit fees, Cleva's pricing page and Raenest's deposit charges. Grey's conversion fee is on Grey's conversion fees page.

Grey publishes a conversion fee, Raenest shows its fee in the app, and Cleva doesn't publish one. Whatever the fee, the exchange rate is where most of the cost sits, so the live comparison below is the fairest way to check what $1 turns into today.

Can you use PayPal to get paid from Fiverr in Nigeria?

Possibly, and it's the only free Fiverr withdrawal method. Fiverr charges $0 to send money to PayPal and it arrives within 24 hours. Fiverr's PayPal setup page says it only works in countries where PayPal accounts can receive payments, and you need a verified PayPal account.

Nigeria moved on that in January 2026. Paga announced that Nigerians can now link a PayPal account to a Paga wallet, receive payments and withdraw to naira. TechCabal's report on the launch says the exchange rate is set at willing-buyer, willing-seller rates.

What it means for you: open Fiverr's withdrawal settings and see whether PayPal is offered for your account. If it is, PayPal saves you the $3 Payoneer fee on every withdrawal. Neither Paga nor PayPal has published the naira conversion fee on that route, so compare what you actually receive on a small withdrawal first.

Where does Daya Borders fit?

Daya Borders gives you US dollar and euro account details in your own name and takes 0% of anything that lands, uncapped and unconditional. For Fiverr, it's where Payoneer sends your dollars, not a replacement for Payoneer. From there you can convert and withdraw to any Nigerian bank account.

The fee that matters on every single payment is the one taken when your money arrives, and Daya Borders takes nothing, however big the payment is. On a single $1,000 transfer from Payoneer, that's $8 you'd pay Grey or $5 you'd pay Cleva just to receive it.

Why was my Fiverr withdrawal declined or delayed?

Most failed Fiverr withdrawals come from a timing rule or a name mismatch rather than a problem with your money. Fiverr's own help pages cover the common causes, and all of them are fixable from your side.

  • You withdrew within 24 hours of adding or changing a method, or within 48 hours of changing your verified phone number.
  • The Payoneer account isn't in your own name, or it's already linked to another Fiverr user. Fiverr says this can get your account blocked without the option of a review.
  • The amount is below the method's minimum: $10 for a Payoneer account, $20 for a bank transfer, $1 for PayPal.
  • The amount is over $5,000 in one transaction.
  • The money hasn't cleared yet. Check the date on your Earnings page.

Is it cheaper to withdraw Fiverr earnings in one go?

Usually yes, because most of the fees on this route are flat. Fiverr charges $3 per Payoneer withdrawal whether you move $20 or $2,000, and Payoneer charges $1.50 per US dollar withdrawal. Ten withdrawals of $100 cost $30 in Fiverr fees alone. One withdrawal of $1,000 costs $3.

Percentage fees work the other way, so the saving depends on where your money lands:

  • Payoneer's conversion fee is a percentage, so batching doesn't change it.
  • Grey and Cleva charge a $2 minimum on each deposit, which eats 10% of a $20 payment.
  • Daya Borders charges 0% on arrival, so the size of each payment doesn't change what it costs to receive.

If you need the money often, the flat fees are the ones worth planning around. The Upwork withdrawal guide covers the same trade-offs on the other big marketplace, and Cleva alternatives in Nigeria compares the dollar account apps in more depth.

Frequently asked questions

Can I withdraw from Fiverr to a Nigerian bank account?

Yes, but through Payoneer. Fiverr's bank transfer option is sent via Payoneer, either in local currency for $3 (1 to 3 business days) or as a US dollar wire for $1 (5 to 7 business days), with a $20 minimum. Payoneer converts the money, and its pricing page lists up to 3% for withdrawals that change currency.

How much does Fiverr charge to withdraw?

Fiverr charges $3 to withdraw to a Payoneer account, $0 to PayPal, and $1 to $3 for a bank transfer through Payoneer, depending on whether it's paid as a US dollar wire or in local currency. That's on top of the 20% Fiverr keeps from every order. Figures checked on Fiverr's help centre on 19 September 2026.

How long does Fiverr take to release my money?

Fiverr holds earnings for 14 days after an order is completed. Seller Plus, Top Rated and Pro freelancers wait 7 days. After that, PayPal withdrawals arrive within 24 hours and Payoneer account withdrawals within 2 business days. Your first withdrawal also needs a 24-hour wait after you add a method.

Can I receive Fiverr payments with Daya Borders?

Yes, through Payoneer. Withdraw from Fiverr to your Payoneer account, then add your Daya Borders US account details in Payoneer and withdraw in dollars. Payoneer charges $1.50 for that, and Daya Borders takes 0% of what arrives, with no cap. You can then convert to naira and withdraw to any Nigerian bank account.

Does Fiverr still offer the Fiverr Revenue Card?

No. Fiverr discontinued the Revenue Card in December 2022 and it only works for people who already had one. New sellers in Nigeria can choose between a Payoneer account, PayPal where PayPal can receive payments, and a bank transfer that Fiverr routes through Payoneer.

Can I use PayPal to withdraw from Fiverr in Nigeria?

Fiverr only allows PayPal withdrawals in countries where PayPal can receive payments. Since January 2026, Nigerians can link PayPal to a Paga wallet to receive money and withdraw to naira. If PayPal appears in your Fiverr withdrawal settings, it's the only free option, with no Fiverr fee and a $1 minimum.
